The Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at the University of Ibnou Zohr will host an inaugural class on Thursday, October 25 at 10 a.m, to discuss with Mr. Alioune Badara Cissé, the Mediator of the Republic of Senegal, the Morocco-Senegal bilateral relations and African issues at the Humanities Campus, on the occasion of the opening of the academic year.
This class will be moderated by Mr.Omar Abdouh, the coordinator of the MPM master’s degree, alongside with the LaRSLAM research laboratory director Mr. Abdeljalil Elidrissi, and the honored guest, Mr. Alioune Badara Cissé, will shed light on Morocco-Senegal bilateral relations from a diplomatic perspective.
In that regard, it should be noted that this inaugural class comes as a tradition that the students of “Careers and Media Practices” have kept alive through the years, under the auspices of the master’s degree coordinators led by Mr. Omar Abdouh.
Moreover, it is worth to mention that on 31 January 2017, His Majesty the King, Mohammed VI announced our country’s return to the African Union (AU) after an absence of 32 years, in a speech at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa. Therefore this inaugural class comes to strengthen the relationships between our country and Senegal, which is a strong supporter of Morocco thanks to the influence of one of the main Sufi brotherhoods, the Tidjaniya; Also to highlight the ‘coming home’ of morocco to its African family.
